Hail Report
Hail Report Information
Station Number:
CO-JF-267
Station Name:
Golden 9.4 WNW
Date:
5/15/2010 10:34 AM
Submitted
10/28/2010 12:26 PM
Taken at registered location:
True
Notes:
I had the hail pad out for only half the 3-minute length of the storm. The hail accumulated to a depth of 1/4 inch in the low places. Note added 6/10 when I collected the pad in anticipation of more hail. I did not bring it in on 5/15/2010 because it had been out for only half the length of the storm. I monitored the hail pad from 5/15 to 6/10 when the first new storm seemed imminent. A lot of rice sized hail occurred sometime in that period that I did not personally observed, nor did I know the date. So the hail pad represents approximately the total hail that fell from 5/15 until 6/10. Perhaps 100 1/4" hail dents were pretty much annealed out by the rice sized hail that fell subsequently.
