Notes:
This is what turned out to be the best of maybe several hail falls during the day starting at 10:50am and ending with this strong one at 6:45pm. Canada geese on pond took to refuge under a tree. For a short time the ground was with about 50-75% hail. covering a short grass-field. Temperature fell to 44°f during the largest down-pore of the largest hail 1/4 inch. I gathered 3-32 oz. containers so that I could look at white vs clear ice. Most fell as white ice. very few were clear. I think that there is enough hail-ice around the down spots of the home to last over night till morning.
