47th Ave and 34 Bypass in GreeleyHail started at 6:45pm was white, round, 3/8"Minutes later, intense rain.6:55pm larger hail up to 1" hail had a white, 3/8" pellet at the center, and was coated in enough CLEAR ice to reach 3/4" to 1". Most large hailstones were angular in shape, not anything close to round. Hail was hard, and mostly clear, and did not break when striking pavement. One angular stone cut the head of this observer, and another left a scratch on his arm. A nearby Davis Instruments school weather station recorded rainfall of 4.8" per hour for a 10 minute interval. |
