Notes:	I have photos of samples of the largest sizes on a plate with tape measure and of photos in the dark outdoors of the hail on the driveway. Largest hail seemed to be expelled out the back side of the cloud after the rain had mostly stopped. Hail size larger than 1" or so was not dense; maybe spaced every 8 feet distance apart when I went out to collect samples. The hail occurred with a 1.01" rainfall caught in my gauge. More rain fell during the night adding up to a total of 3.09" reported at my normal reporting time. This amount included somewhat less than one-half inch that fell in the morning of the same day. Damage from hail was limited to light damage to potted plants with some large leaf hostas shredded. Oak leaves and leaf clusters were knocked down and made quite a mess. Shingle damage was limited to impacts of larger hail pieces, which were spaced out. My brother-in-law lives 1.5 miles from me and hail was considerably more severe at that location, with significant damage to automobile left unsheltered. All hosta plants were destroyed at that location. No hail pad in service.
