First reporting of hail - not familiar with a/o noted some hail-specific obs.
At 10:25 PM (2011-04-03), thunder and freq lgt at site. At 10:35 PM, quick couple minutes of hail, with largest stone noted at 1.2". Lrg sprd of sizes: (very) rough est - <5% of 7/8"+; 35% of 5/8"; >60% of 3/8" or less. 10-15% yard coverage. Nearly all opaque, but a couple were clear ice! |
