Strong winds from the west (40 MPH on my Davis station, though this is blocked to the west so it was likely higher) resulted in wind-driven hail. The side of my garage was getting hit very loudly. It was raining very hard (downbursty) and there was a lot more rain than hail, but a decent amount of hail nonetheless. The biggest I could measure without wandering out in the middle of the storm was 0.75-inches, but many of the stones were all about that size and smaller. I didn't see any super big stones. |
