We were out of state when the hail storm hit. Time and duration of storm, hail size, wind strength is based on my daughter's observation. Our metal carport was lifted up off of its rebar stakes and thrown 20' south of the pad and rotated 90 degrees from its original position. It is a total loss. Much of the vinyl siding on the north and west sides of the house have broken pieces as if a bomb had exploded nearby and will have to be replaced. Neighboring farms have total losses of corn and beans. The corn stalks have been stripped of leaves and flattened. Many trees have been uprooted and car windows broken. KCP&L reported 36,000 customers without power from Thursday to Saturday morning. This is the worst storm we have had since the 2007 ice storm. |
