Severe winds at beginning of storm, very heavy rain, hail mixed in w /rain. Two waves of hail, first was ~ 6 mins, lull, then about 4 mins of hail. Not huge hail, but intense and wind-driven. Many potted flowering plants lost up to ~ 25 % of blossoms. Tree leaves suffered, lawn is leaf covered, almost as in autumn, with leafs and some branch clusters (ends of smaller limbs). Wind driven storm caused hail to "drift" and build up much like snow drifting. Broad leaf plants such as squash, pumpkin, have close to 20-25% holes punched through the leaves. Well, 20-25% of what is left of the large leafs, some leaves have significant portions missing. Street fairly clear of debris, only due to the amount of water washing down, at one point, water covered entire street. |
