Note: you need to develop a statistical protocol for determining average distance between indents. A start would be to sample the number of hits per 1 inch square for a number (say 10 to 20 out of 144 on the pad) of randomly placed squares, and record the value. However, the statistics of determining the average (shortest) distance between indents is not trivial, and I don't know how to do it.
The hail was first observed 0.5 mi NE of rain gauge, and 320 feet below the 8750' elevation of rain gauge while horseback riding on Robinson Hill Road. From previous experience, I see you don't place hail on the map if I check "no" for question "Report was taken at registered location?", so I answer "yes". The time may be slightly different, but the hail pad was at the registered location. I suggest that COCORAHS modify this question, as well as figure out the statistical problem mentioned above.
