Precipitation began as a sprinkle at 1:12pm. Large raindrops at 1:20pm. Small 1/8" or smaller hail began at 1:25pm. At about 1:28pm, hail began to get a little larger up to about 3/8". At about 1:35pm hail increased to about 1/2" hail then increased further to 1.0" at 1:37pm then maxed out to 1 and 5/8" or 1.63" at 1:45. Hail ended about 1:48pm and large raindrops fell at 1:53 under bright sunshine. Hailstones were partly opaque and partly clear. Some larger stones had a sharp protrusion (horn) of ice on one side during the fall. There was about a 1–2-minute lull in precipitation events when hail got larger. Since the largest hailstone were few and far between, damage was minimal. If our vehicles had been left outside, we probably would have sustained hail damage. Unable to determine if roof shingles are damaged. |
